| The area of law is a vast one and there is ample opportunity for a person who adopts law as his career. India, being a civilized and largest democratic nation, the roots of law are very deep and developed with the passage of time. A person, being a serious student of law, can learn law for himself as well as for service of society. It is for sure, one would get a definite chance to serve the society through his professional career. As stated above, the area of law being vast it can be classified for the purpose of career of new comer. The following are the areas where demand of legal educated person is on an increasing trend :- 1. Corporate world : Every big corporate house has separate legal departments and law officers to look after its interest. A degree holder of law with little bit experience can get handsome salary and other perks. The fashion of having a legal officer or a legal department is on increasing trend. 2. Advocacy : It is the most noble and prestigious profession of modern era. A person with education who believes in himself must opt for advocacy, because it a field which has vast potentialities and opportunities. My personal advice for new-comers is that learn the practice from basics. One must start from original side of the court of the lowest category be it criminal or civil side. 3. Academic work : If you are not interested in advocacy or service in corporate sector you may adopt for legal write ups. For this one requires extra bit of caliber and command of law. In this field one can establish oneself with prominence because it is a step forward to the advocacy. I, myself, have started this as my career in initial days of my career and that made world of good for me. I have not only earned money but also the prestige and honour in legal world. Encourage by these efforts, I have also been able to write 16 books on various subjects of law. In my considered opinion, no field other than law is lucrative and fruitful, subject to this condition that the person who is adopting it must have capabilities of doing hard work with honesty. 4. Teaching Profession : Higher study like LL.M. and Ph.D. would allow you to teach in law colleges. Therefore, in the present time of tough competition, the legal professional service has assumed greater importance for earning name, fame and money too.
